ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:
Mid-size double-ended car and passenger ferry built in the USA in 1958 and refitted in 1995. She measures 94.5 m overall with a 22.3 m beam, a draft of about 4.7 m and 4.2 m vehicle deck clearance, and was certified for 800 passengers and 87 cars, including up to 30 commercial vehicles, with a crew of 10. Diesel-electric propulsion of about 2,500 hp (1,900 kW) gives a service speed of about 13 knots, with a wheelhouse at each end for drive-through loading. She has one vehicle deck, a passenger deck with forward-facing seating, booth tables and a galley, and an open sun deck. She served short island crossings on sheltered inland waters until she was withdrawn in 2017 and has been laid up since. A 2025 survey found the hull structurally sound but overall condition fair to poor, and navigation equipment, radios and lifeboats have been removed. Offered as is, where is with no minimum bid; the buyer must arrange an approved tow and show a viable use. About This Vessel
QPS Marine Ships offers double-ended car ferry S2847 for sale, a 94.5 m US-built ferry for 800 passengers and 87 cars. Her simple diesel-electric plant and drive-through double-ended layout made her a reliable performer on short island crossings for nearly six decades. Retired in 2017 and laid up in the Pacific Northwest, she suits a buyer looking for a refit project for a short ferry link, a conversion to a floating venue, workboat base or accommodation platform, or recycling. She is offered as is, where is, with no minimum bid, and recent survey reports are available to serious buyers. Navigation and safety equipment has been removed, so delivery will normally be by tow. Price on application. For specifications, survey details and inspection arrangements, contact QPS Marine Ships about S2847.
