Accommodation Vessels and Barges for Charter and Sale

Floating hotels and workforce housing, 159 to 900 guests, for offshore, construction, and event projects, listed by stock number

An accommodation vessel is a floating hotel: cabins, catering, laundry and recreation on a hull that can be towed or sailed to wherever people need housing. They are chartered for offshore construction and decommissioning crews, shipyard and port projects, remote infrastructure work, major sporting and cultural events, disaster relief and seasonal tourism where hotel capacity runs out. QPS Marine Ships brokers accommodation barges and converted passenger ships for charter and, where owners allow, for sale.

Listings are published by QPS stock number with cabin count and berth arrangement, en-suite provision, mess and recreation facilities, classification, current location and availability. Identity is released to qualified charterers under a non-disclosure agreement.

Current accommodation vessels

A 159-cabin accommodation vessel classed by Lloyd's and located in the Netherlands can be configured for up to 900 guests and is available for charter, suited to offshore or workforce housing (S2583). A 222-cabin accommodation barge with all en-suite cabins is in Europe and offered for charter with a possible sale (S2749). A 180-guest accommodation vessel is available for charter or sale (S2748).

Cruise ships as floating hotels

For larger or shorter requirements, a cruise ship on short-term charter is often the quickest solution: it arrives under its own power with crew, hotel operation and catering in place. Several ships in our inventory are available for short-term charter, including a 220 m ship with 648 cabins (S2359); see our Cruise Ships for Sale and Charter page.

Arranging an accommodation charter

The key questions are the number of beds and the standard required (single en-suite cabins for offshore crews versus shared cabins for construction labour), the charter period, the berth or mooring available, and whether the vessel needs to be towed or can sail. We match the requirement to available tonnage, obtain the owner's terms, and coordinate the charter party, positioning and delivery. QPS Marine Ships is a licensed and bonded brokerage with offices in Florida and the Mediterranean and associates worldwide.
